Producing scientific posters and poster books for the pharmaceutical industry is a highly specialised job, demanding both the highest possible standards of professionalism and technical expertise. The Cinnamon Agency understands this, and has had a wealth of experience working with some of the industry’s major pharmaceutical brands at conferences and events throughout the world.
The Cinnamon Agency, working in conjunction with Adelphi Communications, recently produced 15 scientific posters and a poster book for our client Merck Serono GmbH for a EGFR Advisors’ Network (EAN) conference for metastatic colorectal cancer on 8/9 April, 2011 at the Imperial Riding School in Vienna. Merck Serono GmbH, based in Darmstadt, is one of the world’s leading producers of cancer-specific therapies, like Erbitux and UFT, and works in conjunction with oncology experts, healthcare professionals and patients to develop products that specifically target multiple aspects of the disease process, whilst working in combination with established standard therapies.
Our brief was to produce scientific posters for our client, Merck Serono GmbH at the conference where experts discussed metastatic colorectal cancer and the influence and effects of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR). Colorectal cancer (CRC), which is more commonly termed bowl cancer, is the third most deadly cancer in women and the fourth in men. Worldwide it’s responsible for around 529,000 deaths.
Metastatic bowl cancer (mCRC) is a cancer that has started in the colon or rectum and spread to another part of the body, often the liver as blood from the colon is transported directly to the organ. Treatment for mCRC depends on how advanced the disease is, its location, and the general state of health of the patient. Patients usually receive a combination of treatments including chemotherapy and newer therapies that specifically target the cancer cells, like Merck Serono’s Erbitux Cetuximab and UFT (tegafur-uracil).
All of the posters for the conference were produced in Austria. The Cinnamon Agency always sources its print locally in line with our green policy and credentials. We believe this policy helps both our client and the planet by cutting down on unnecessary shipping costs and transportation.
